Hello and welcome to my website!
My name is Manasse van Krimpen, I'm 20 years old and I use they/them pronouns. I am an art student at St. Joost School of Art and Design and I study Illustrated and Animated storytelling!
As an artist, I am a daydreamer who gets lost in the fascinating world around us. Community is central to me; creating a safe space for those in need is my top priority. Art is not only a creative outlet but also a beautiful way to learn about each other.
I am eager to learn and love exploring different techniques and styles. My inspirations include graphic novelists like Brecht Evens, Karolina Szedja, and Art Spiegelman, as well as filmmakers like the amazing Studio Ghibli, Cartoon Saloon, Wes Anderson, and Laika. In my free time, I enjoy hobbies like playing games (including Dungeons and Dragons), cooking, and crocheting.
Stop-motion inspires me because it allows me to work with various materials and fully unleash my creativity. I just in general am interested in projects that stimulate all my senses and interests! I also like making comics, collages and storyboarding for the same reason. I can do things like drawing characters, backgrounds, props, compositions and more without having to choose.
In my spare time, I often engage in analog activities like drawing, collaging, and collecting. I also love storyboarding, which lets me work quickly and diversely, perfect for my passion for variety and experimentation in art.
I can write on and on about this but it's way more fun to check it out for yourself! Take a look around and if you want to talk to me about my art, you can! Just shoot me a message on one of my socials:
